Monona police have identified a suspect for two burglaries in the City of Monona. On September 4, during the early morning hours, officers from the Monona Police Department were checking the area in the 4900 block of Monona Drive after a previous burglary was reported.Officers noted a second business in the area was forcibly entered and employees confirmed the desks have been rifled through.

The Dane County Sheriff's Office says a 23-year-old man was killed Friday afternoon when his car crashed into a semi. It happened just before 1:30 p.m. at Schneider Road and Capital View Road in the town of Springfield.

On Friday afternoon, a 23-year-old Middleton man was killed in a car accident near the town of Springfield. According to Madison police, the driver was traveling eastbound on Schneider Road while a semitrailer driver, John J. Beuthin, 61, from Mazomanie, was traveling westbound on Schneider Road.

An incident outside a strip club Tuesday morning was a fight over a drug debt that escalated when one of the men took out a gun, according to a release from the Dane County Sheriff's Office. Deputies identified the men Friday.

State transportation officials say a memorial to a woman killed by a drunken driver can stay in place along a Dane County highway until June. Last month, the Department of Transportation ordered the family of Maureen Mengelt to remove the plaque along Highway 19 because of a single complaint, citing DOT policy.
