The Dane County Sheriff's Office believe black ice may be the cause of a single-vehicle crash just before 8:30 Tuesday morning. Deputies say Jonathan Ironside , of Madison, was driving westbound on Oncken Road when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a power pole.

January 27, 2015 - Dane County Sheriff's deputies believe black ice is the cause of a single-vehicle crash that occurred at about 8:25 am in the town of Westport. Jonathan Ironside, age 37 of Madison, was traveling westbound on Oncken Road when he lost control of his 2004 Honda Civic on the icy road and struck a power pole, causing the wires to fall across the road.

BLOOMING GROVE, Wis A Chicago murder suspect has been arrested at a Dane County hotel. The sheriff's department was tipped that 23-year-old Omar Dixon was stayed at the Magnuson Grand Hotel in Blooming Grove.

Dane County Sheriff's deputies were out Thursday night looking for drunk drivers. The sheriff's office had six extra officers on duty, focusing mostly on the towns of Cottage Grove and Deerfield in the eastern part of the county.

Dane County District Attorney officials charged a McFarland man with threatening to post naked photos of several women on social media, unless the women provided him with more photos or, in one case, performed a sex act over a web camera. 30-year old Brett Beckwith faces four felony counts of making threats to injure with the intent to compel a person to do an act against their will.
