The U.S. attorney's office in Madison says it collected about $3.7 million in criminal and civil actions during the 2014 federal fiscal year. U.S. Attorney John Vaudreuil says his office collected about $1.4 million in criminal cases and about $2.3 million in civil actions.

Madison police say two armed men robbed the U.S. Cellular store on Dempsey Road Wednesday morning. The victim told police the intruders entered around 10:00 a.m. and took off with several phones.

Two Madison men were charged Wednesday with the robbery of five businesses and a bank in Dane and Columbia counties between Sept. 28 and Oct. 11, according to a release.

Madison police were called to Atwood and Fair Oaks Avenues around 10:30 Wednesday night for the report of a vehicle crash. Investigating officers found 51-year-old Vickie Whitlock, of Madison, had been traveling westbound on Atwood when her car crashed into the back end of another vehicle stopped at a traffic light on S. Fair Oaks.

Madison police say a Metro bus was evacuated Tuesday night after an intoxicated man pulled out a knife. According to a police incident report, the bus was headed eastbound on Milwaukee Street when a young female passenger, visibly upset, notified the driver of the man with a knife.
