Today's Daily Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Best starting pitchers, streamers for Tuesday, June 11Sporting News — (Matt Lutovsky)
Like most Tuesdays, our daily fantasy baseball SP rankings are packed for tonight's main slate, but like last night, reliable aces only run a few names deep. It's a little tougher identifying those must-have value sleepers tonight, as the names, matchups, and/or FanDuel/DraftKings prices further down the list don't inspire a ton of confidence.
Arguably four of tonight's top five pitchers in terms of talent have favorable matchups, so expect to see many pay up for either Luis Castillo (@ Indians), Trevor Bauer (vs. Reds), Chris Paddack (@ Giants), or Patrick Corbin (@ White Sox). James Paxton (vs. Mets) has a tough matchup on paper, but it's unlikely anyone will be scared off by seeing the Mets as his opponent, so he'll also be highly owned. You can't go wrong with any of these five, but on DraftKings, it's tough to fit two into your lineups, especially with a Coors game and a Camden game on the schedule.
If you're looking for a boom-or-bust value with a good matchup, Trent Thornton (@ Orioles) is probably your guy, but that pitching environment is always worrisome. The same obviously goes for his mound opponent, John Means (vs. Blue Jays), but he also offers some salary relief. Both Dakota Hudson (@ Marlins) and Martin Perez (vs. Mariners) are decent values on DraftKings, while Mike Foltynewics (vs. Pirates) and Chris Archer (@ Braves) offer a little bit of savings on FanDuel.
Jon Duplantier (@ Phillies), Jake Arrieta (vs. Diamondbacks), and Jason Vargas (@ Yankees) seem slightly underpriced on both sites, but after last night's HR derby in the Arizona-Philadelphia game, it's tough to trust either of those pitchers -- and it's always tough to trust Vargas, regardless of how well he's pitched lately or how below-average the Yankees are against lefties.
Mariners-Twins is the main game to keep on an eye on as far as weather tonight, but check the Fantasy Alarm Weather Center closer to lineup lock for the latest reports.

wRC+ is defined by Fangraphs as "[measuring] how a player’s wRC compares with league average after controlling for park effects. League average for position players is 100, and every point above 100 is a percentage point above league average. For example, a 125 wRC+ means a player created 25% more runs than a league average hitter would have in the same number of plate appearances. Similarly, every point below 100 is a percentage point below league average, so a 80 wRC+ means a player created 20% fewer runs than league average." For more on the stat, click here .
